Ivey grabs 604 Late Model victory at Cherokee Speedway worth $2,000

Trent Ivey made a surprise start at his home track of Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, S.C.) on Saturday afternoon as he competed in both the 604 and 602 Late Model divisions for the Robin Caldwell Memorial.

Ivey qualified fourth-fastest among 11 other 604 Late Models and charged from the second-row in the 25-lap main event to take home the checkered flag. Trent pocketed a $2,000 payday while Colby Quick and John Ruggiero Jr. completed the podium.

Mechanical issues plagued Ivey in the 602 Late Model feature and he recorded a DNF.
