Trent Ivey takes on Dirt Late Model Dream at Eldora Speedway
On Thursday afternoon, Trent Ivey unloaded his Ivey Construction No. 88 Late Model at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) for the 29th running of the Dirt Late Model Dream weekend.
With the massive 95-car field split into two groups, Trent stopped the clock sixth-quickest before transferring to a preliminary feature with a runner-up finish in his heat race. For the $12,000 prize, Ivey faded to finish 14th.
For another round of prelims on Friday, Ivey qualified 14th-fastest in his group but would start of the pole of his heat race because of the invert. After falling backwards in his heat race, Trent transferred to his second $12,000-to-win preliminary feature of the week and recorded a 16th-place outing.
With points placing him on the second row of his heat race on Saturday, Trent finished fifth in his heat race which relegated him to a Last Chance Showdown. Needing a Top-3 finish in the LCS, Trent battled hard and was in position to transfer when flat tire forced him to bring his machine in early. He was scored 18th in the LCS and did not make the starting field for the Dirt Late Model Dream.
