Runner-up finish in Shrine 100 at Carolina Speedway

Friday night found Trent Ivey in action at Carolina Speedway (Gastonia, N.C.) for the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series-sanctioned Gaston County Shrine 100. With time trial results placing him fifth on the starting grid for the opening night feature, Ivey mounted a furious charge for the lead late in the 40-lapper but fell short, marking him second on the rundown. The following night at Modoc Raceway (Modoc, S.C.) for the E-Z-Go Summer Kickoff, Trent locked his spot into the $7,500-to-win A-Main with the fifth fastest time in qualifying. Losing one spot in the 50-lap affair, Ivey recorded a sixth-place finish.
