Ivey Returns to Racing with Palmetto Invitational at Gaffney

With multiple precautionary measures in place to host the event during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, Trent Ivey headed to Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, South Carolina) on Saturday afternoon powering his Ivey Construction No. 88 Late Model entry for the inaugural Palmetto Invitational. Drawing 36 cars, Ivey came in third fastest in his time trial group before falling back to an eighth place finish in his heat. Needing a fourth place finish or better in his B-Main to make the $10,000-to-win A-Main, Trent fell two spots short with a sixth place outing.
