Ivey Salvages 15th Place Finish in The Big Chief 40 at Gaffney

On Saturday afternoon Trent Ivey returned behind the wheel of his Ivey Construction No. 88 Late Model entry at Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, S.C.) for the Ultimate Southeast Series sanctioned The Big Chief 40. With a broken rear-end in hot laps placing him behind the eight-ball for the evening, Ivey followed up the seventh fastest time in his qualifying group with an 8-lap heat race victory. Earning the 11th-starting position for the $5,000-to-win A-Main, Trent dropped four spots in the 50-lapper to place 15th.
